Friday, August 8

The exhibition An Era of Opportunity: Three Decades of Acquisitions will be on view in the Frances Lehman Loeb Art Center Temporary Exhibition Galleries until September 8. The exhibition is a tribute to James Mundy ’74 upon his retirement as the Anne Hendricks Bass Director of the Frances Lehman Loeb Art Center and features a range of drawings, paintings, photographs, and other works acquired over the three decades of his tenure.

Monday, August 26 

From August 26 to September 15, the exhibit Approximations of Impossibility will be on view in the College Center Palmer Gallery. The exhibit will include a series of intricately detailed pointillist pen-and-ink illustrations paired with prototype guitars by artist and guitar expert Dick Boak.

Wednesday, September 4

The eevo team

At 3:30 Fall Convocation will take place in the Chapel, bringing together faculty, administrators, and students to welcome the new first-year class. During the event, the AAVC will present its Distinguished Achievement Award to renowned architect Phyllis Bronfman Lambert ’48, and its Young Alumnae/i Achievement or Service Award to virtual-reality entrepreneurs from the company eevo: Jacob Adelgren ’15, Alejandro Dinsmore ’15, Harris Gordon ’15, Matthew Griffiths ’17, and Casey Hancock ’16. That evening, the eevo team will present the talk “Creating Interactive Experiences—The Virtual Reality of Life After Vassar,” in Taylor 203, 8:00pm.

Thursday, September 5

At 5:00pm an artist’s reception will take place for the exhibit Approximations of Impossibility, by Dick Boak. The reception will be held in the College Center Palmer Gallery.
