On Campus - December 2017 Preview

Tuesday, December 5

Sanguine Mood by Helen Frankenthaler

An exhibition of the work of abstract artist Helen Frankenthaler will make its only Northeast stop at the Frances Lehman Loeb Art Center. Fluid Expressions: The Prints of Helen Frankenthaler, from the Collections of Jordan D. Schnitzer and His Family Foundation will be on display through December 10.

A Neoclassical Portrait of a Classicist: Houdon’s Bust of Jean-Jacques Barthélemy will be on display at the Frances Lehman Loeb Art Center through December 22. The Art Center recently acquired the original plaster portrait.

The student art exhibition Tag Yourself will be on display in the James W. Palmer III Gallery, College Center, through December 12. It will feature the independent works of 10 students in Vassar’s Studio Art Program.

Wednesday, December 6

The Vastards will perform their final concert at 9:30pm in Rockefeller Hall, room 200.

The men’s basketball team will play Wesleyan University at 7:00pm at the Athletics and Fitness Center.

Thursday, December 7

Late Night at the Lehman Loeb will take place from 5:00 to 9:00pm at the Art Center.

Mahagonny Ensemble

The Mahagonny Ensemble will perform at 8:00pm in the Villard Room, College Center.

BAM (Broadway and More) will perform at 9:30pm in Rockefeller Hall, room 300.

Friday, December 8

Vassar On Tap will perform its show “Tappy Holidays” at 8:00pm in the Aula, Ely Hall.

A faculty recital featuring Frank Cassara on percussion will begin at 8:00pm at the Mary Anna Fox Martel Recital Hall, Skinner Hall.

Saturday, December 9

Measure 4 Measure will perform at 5:00pm in Rockefeller Hall, room 200.

The Night Owls will perform at 8:00pm in Rockefeller Hall, room 200.

Thursday, December 14

Late Night at the Lehman Loeb will take place from 5:00 to 9:00pm at the Art Center.
