The Studio Art Department student exhibitions will be on display in the James W. Palmer III Gallery, College Center, through May 29.
How long is your past, how far is your future by Laura Battle

The Touch the Sky exhibition will be on display in the Frances Lehman Loeb Art Center Temporary Exhibition Galleries through August 21. It will feature a multimedia display of images of the moon, sun, planets, and stars made by artists since the 19th century. The exhibition comprises historical works from the Art Center’s collection as well as several more contemporary works on loan; artists include Vija Celmins, Chris McCaw, Sharon Harper, David Milan, Mungo Thomson, Lisa Oppenheim, and Trevor Paglen. An opening reception will begin at 5:30 pm in the Taylor Hall 102 Auditorium.

The sketch comedy group No Offense will give its final performance of the year at 8 pm in the Sanders Classroom Building, Spitzer Auditorium, Room 212.

Friday, May 13

The Cognitive Science Department will sponsor the public presentation of the final championship of RoboComp16 at 9 am in the Villard Room, College Center.

Saturday, May 14

Historical walking tours

Free public walking tours of Vassar history and architecture will be held at 10 am and 1 pm. Tours will meet at Main Circle, Main Building, and be led by Associate Professor of History Leslie Offutt.

Sunday, May 15

Vassar Camerata will perform at 8 pm at the Mary Anna Fox Martel Recital Hall, Skinner Hall.

Monday, May 16

Mohagonny Ensemble

The Mahagonny Ensemble will perform at 8 pm at the Mary Anna Fox Martel Recital Hall, Skinner Hall.

Thursday, May 26

The Universal Collection: A Mark Dion Project exhibition will be on display at the Frances Lehman Loeb Art Center through December 11. Dion is a visual artist known for his “cabinets of curiosities” that incorporate found objects into site-specific installations. The objects will be comprised of items drawn from the collections of the Art Center, Special Collections, and Vassar College Artifacts Project.

Saturday, May 28

The Commencement Concert for the Class of 2016 will be held at 3 pm at the Mary Anna Fox Martel Recital Hall, Skinner Hall.

Sunday, May 29

Commencement

The 152nd Commencement Ceremony will take place at 10 am at the Outdoor Amphitheater. The keynote speaker is President of the NAACP Legal Defense and Educational Fund Sherrilyn Ifill ’84.
