Angela Davis

Social justice icon and political activist Angela Davis spoke in commemoration of the 30th anniversary of Vassar's Women's Studies Program at 5:30 pm in the Chapel. The program was so popular that the overflow crowd filled the lawn in hopes of hearing Davis's talk. 

Friday, September 18

The Haitian Art Auction & Sale will run through Sunday, September 20.

Art from the annual Haitian Art Auction and Sale

All Families Weekend will begin at 5 pm in the Rose Parlor, Main Building. Activities, tours, and other events will be scheduled throughout the weekend.

Saturday, September 19

The women’s soccer team will play Manhattanville College at 2 pm at the Prentiss Sports Complex.

Tuesday, September 22

The David Orr Lecture, Going to Montana: Sustainability as a Journey, will take place at 5 pm in the Villard Room, College Center.

The women’s soccer team will play SUNY New Paltz at 4 pm at the Prentiss Sports Complex.

Wednesday, September 23

The men’s soccer team will play Mount Saint Mary College at 4 pm at the Prentiss Sports Complex.

Thursday, September 24

Guantanamo Diary

The 2015 William Starr Distinguished Lecture will begin at 5:30 pm in the Villard Room, College Center. The lecturer will be Larry Siems, editor of Guantánamo Diary by Mohamedou Ould Slahi. The event is sponsored by the Dean of the Faculty, the Freshman Writing Seminar Program, and the Vassar First-Year Program.

Friday, September 25

The men’s tennis ITA Regionals will begin at 8 am at the Joss Tennis Courts and continue at 8 am Saturday and Sunday, September 26-27. The women’s soccer team will play Montclair State University at 2 pm at the Prentiss Sports Complex. The women’s field hockey team will play St. Lawrence University at 2 pm at the Prentiss Sports Complex.

Wednesday, September 30

The workshop True Tales from the Writers’ Room: The Business and Craft of Writing, featuring speaker Kevin Maher ’97, will begin at 4 pm in the College Center Multi-Purpose Room. Maher, a writer and producer, will discuss several aspects of writing and the entertainment business.
