Spring Convocation

The Class of 2014 enjoyed its final Convocation at the end of April, listening to the wise—and humorous remarks of Sakina Jaffrey ’84. The actress shared a story about her first day on the set of House of Cards, and a scene in which she tells Kevin Spacey’s character that he would not become Secretary of State. Feeling vulnerable, and a bit nervous about the possibility of being fired by director David Fincher, Jaffrey says it took her a minute to gather her wits. Find out how Vassar helped her nail the plot-setting scene.
