Commencement 2014

Thousands of of family and friends visited campus for the 150th Commencement Ceremony, held on May 25. Speakers included noted physicist Sau Lan Wu ’63, part of the CERN team that discovered the Higgs Boson, which is said to give all matter mass. Wu talked about an improvised early life and the importance of Vassar’s assistance—from the full scholarship she received, to the helpful alumnae/i who welcomed her to the country, to fellow students who donated clothing.
