On Campus – August 2013 Preview

Wednesday, August 7

The Flip Side features the calligraphy, blown glass, cut paper, and digital and analog photography creations of a diverse set of members of the Vassar community. The exhibit is in the James W. Palmer III Gallery, College Center, and runs through September 4.

Monday, August 19

Student-athletes from the soccer, volleyball, rugby, field hockey, and cross country teams arrive for pre-season training.

Thursday, August 22

Select first-year students arrive on campus for the Transitions program, which introduces lower-income students to the college, its staff, and its resources. Read more about the program.

Sunday, August 25

Incoming international students arrive on campus.

Tuesday, August 27

All other incoming students arrive on campus, and New Student Orientation begins. See the full list of activities here.

Wednesday, August 28

Orientation begins for transfer, visiting, and exchange students.

Friday, August 30

The women’s field hockey team faces Keystone College in its first match at 3:00 pm at the Prentiss Sports Complex’s Weinberg Turf Field. The game is followed by the women’s soccer opener at 4:30 pm against Mount Saint Mary College. The match takes place at Gordon Field, also in the Prentiss complex.
