Adam Green '95 Still Rocking

Adam Green '95, founder of Rocking the Boat, works with kids to build boats, in the process teaching them life skills.

Adam Green '95 is the founder of Rocking the Boat, a nonprofit that uses "boats to build kids." Through Rocking the Boat's programs, Bronx youth apply math, carpentry, and organizational skills, practice problem solving and teamwork, and learn other skills applicable to the working world. In "River of Hope in the Bronx," and in the companion video "A River Recovering," Green gives New York Times architecture critic Michael Kimmelman a tour of the Bronx River and the projects that have restored the once-heavily-polluted waterway, and talks about Rocking the Boat and the impact it's hard on area youth.
